Environmental Policy

We all know the importance of protecting our environment and at Touch Marketing & Design we are working hard to ensure that we do all we can to minimise our impact upon the environment.

Here is a selection of initiatives we have implemented to reduce our environmental impact:

Recycling
We recycle all paper, cardboard, plastic, cans and packaging – in fact we recycle upto 95% of our office waste – and we are highly committed to reducing our non-recyclable office waste further.

Energy
We work hard to reduce the energy we use and ensure that we don’t unnecessarily waste energy. We don’t leave unused equipment on and when buying new equipment it's always energy-efficient and all bulbs are low energy.

Office Machines
All machinery is energy efficient and when applicable, reusable machinery and computers are either recycled where possible or are sent to be reused elsewhere.

Printing
By the very nature of the work we do, we handle large volumes of printed items for our clients and whilst this in itself has an impact on the environment, we do encourage our clients to select recycled paper for their printing needs and as applicable, we work hard with our print suppliers to use the most environmentally considerate inks and printing methods. Additionally, we strictly only use materials that come from sustained sources.

Transport
We try to avoid unnecessary journeys and often hold telephone conference calls to reduce the impact that vehicle journeys can make. Whilst we appreciate that there’s no substitute for face-to-face interaction, we do find that sometimes this actually improves the service our clients receive as we can respond more quickly as we spend less time sat in traffic.

General
By issuing recycling policies and encouraging staff to act responsibly by recycling, reducing waste, sourcing locally and minimising energy use we are doing what we can to help. Here are many of the things we do whenever possible to reduce our environmental impact:

    > Printing things out only when necessary – we don’t print for
        the sake of it
    > proofing by PDF wherever possible
    > Ordering electronically as much as possible
    > Using energy efficient lighting
    > Never leaving machinery on standby overnight
    > Using telephone conference calls instead of meetings to
        reduce travel
    > Sourcing products locally to reduce transportation costs of
        products we buy and source for our clients
    > Purchasing energy efficient office equipment
    > Recycling 95% of the waste we produce.
