We’ve had a number of enquiries this month asking for
very specific help so I want to share with you all the
answer we gave to one particular gentleman.
He called me and said “so David right, I’ve got this logo
thing, is that it or do I need summat else like?” So here’s my
response...
You've got a
logo... what now? Well now you need some
eye-catching marketing materials to promote your business.
There are so many options available that it can be difficult
to know the best way to promote your business. No matter your
business, here are just two items that are a MUST HAVE in
every marketing arsenal:
1. Business Stationery The early impression
of your business normally begins with your stationery - whether it’s a letterhead on
which you write an introduction letter or proposal or business
cards you hand out. Getting it right is a must.
In fact, as your business card is typically the first of
your marketing materials that a new client will see, it should
clearly show who you are and what you do at a glance. It gets
your contact details into somebody’s hands when you meet and
so you should make sure your cards contain all of your
details, are professionally designed so they look great and
ideally, also include a list of your services.
2. Something To Follow-up With So you’ve
braved the cold-call or have met somebody for the first time
and promised to be inTouch (excuse the cheap plug!) so now you
need a way to follow up. So whether it’s an email newsletter,
a notecard, a leaflet, flyer, brochure, catalogue or postcard,
you have to have something to help you stand out from the
crowd and back up the claims you may have made.
It can be true that prospects need to hear from you up
to seven times before they make a purchase therefore, you’ll
need the tools to follow up these prospects once you've made
the initial connection. You have to do whatever you can to
make sure you and your company stay at the forefront of the
minds of the people that you meet. So here are a
few pointers for your follow up item(s):
> Most importantly don’t design it yourself, it
has to look fantastic > Grab their attention with
a clear message of value > Think differently – an
innovative approach can work wonders > Do include
a call to action – get the recipient to do something
Getting these items right sets you perfectly on the
road tosuccessfully marketing your business. Don’t ignore the
value that your business stationery can offer and never
underestimate the importance of the follow up marketing piece
– it could be your one and only chance to gain your targets
attention… and thus their business.
